9.April 1940 was the day Narvik was under huge International attention. After hald a year of unventful war Hitler attacked Norway-Narvik. For two months a bigger battle for Narvik and the iron-ore raged between the invading German forces, French,Polish and Norwegian troops on land, and a considerable British flotilla at sea. The War Memorial Museum will give you a idea of what was going on during the war far up north in Norway. We reccommend a visit for you and your family.
